Do we have a problem with speeding drivers?

Funding has recently been made available for The Local Neighbourhood Policing Team to train local residents in the use of speed guns for determining car speeds on both our residential streets and our main through roads in the Bishopston and St Andrews area.

This exercise is initially aimed at measuring the scale of the problem. There is no intention at this stage of the initiative to convict drivers who are breaking speed limits.

The training involves one 2 hour session at the Traffic Policing Unit in Almondsbury.
