This talk is an event organised by the organisation working to restore the heritage of our 'local levels' of the Lower Severn Vale - 'A Forgotten Landscape'.
The talk is being given on Wed 5 April, 7:30pm at Olveston Methodist Church, The Street, Olveston BS35 4DR
Once described as ‘One of Europe’s top scenic railway routes’ by Thomas Cook, the Severn Beach railway line has a fascinating past. Our friends at the Olveston Parish Historical Society present a talk by Andrew Swift, a respected local historian with a strong interest in local railways. It will be a journey from one of the landmarks of Bristol’s industrial past, through Georgian and Victorian suburbs and ending up at the resort that once drew thousands to its Blue Lagoon. Not to be missed!
Tickets are £2 on the door.
